Target Species: Calves and foals
Dosage: Feed orally 100 ml morning and evening for 2 days or until late calf begins to dry, until calves begin to dry up.
What can cause scour in calves
There are a variety of causes of scours in baby calves. Most of these are infectious agents like the following:
- Viruses: Examples include rotavirus and coronavirus, bovine virus diarrhea (BVD) Parasites: such as Cryptosporidium and coccidia
- Bacteria: Certain strains of Escherichia coli, Salmonella, and Clostridium perfringens
- Overcrowding is also a major contributing factor to calf ending up with scour.
What are the common signs of scour:
- Watery fecies that may be brown, green, yellow, or grey in colour.
- Sometimes there may be blood and mucus may be evident in the stools
- Calves are often weak and depressed, and don’t want to feed of mother.
